Elemental Attack & Defense
Certain Gear pieces have Elemental Attack or Elemental Defense. See a Gear piece's details screen to confirm whether it has either of these.
Elemental Attack and Elemental Defense increase your effectiveness against elements, giving you an advantage in Quests and Guild battles.
â– Elemental Attack
Elemental Attack is a parameter that can be found on each element. It increases your ATK/MATK against the element for which it is effective against.
*Guild battles, Colosseum, and other player-versus-player scenarios are not affected by Elemental Attack.
For each Weapon/Monster with an element that you equip, your Element Attack for the element of that Weapon/Monster will increase by 1.
To see the total Elemental Attack for Gear pieces you have equipped and your ATK/MATK with these pieces, tap on the [i] button on the Gear screen.
â– Elemental Defense
Elemental Defense is a parameter that can be found on each element. It decreases the damage done by attacks of the element for which it is effective against.
Elemental Defense parameters on Gear vary depending on the Gear piece's rarity.
Elemental Defense is used to calculate how much damage is reduced against physical and magical attacks of a certain element. Higher Elemental Defense on a certain element will mean greater damage reduction for the element it is effective against.
Damage reduction against an element the Elemental Defense is effective against will mainly be against attacks from Monsters in Quests that have an element. Unison Attacks in Guild battles, Colosseum, and other player-versus-player scenarios will be affected by Elemental Defense.
*Damage from regular Abilities in player-versus-player scenarios will not be reduced.
The damage you incur depends on your DEF, elemental damage reduction, and various other factors, so the total Elemental Defense you have for a certain element itself is not the exact numerical amount of damage reduction you will have against that element.
*This will not affect fixed or proportional damage.
